A tongue-in-cheek fairy tale, this movie follows a stable boy-turned-pirate Westley (Cary Elwes) on his journey to rescue his true love Buttercup (Robin Wright) from the evil prince (Chris Sarandon). Along the way, he must overcome staggering odds, including six-fingered counts, murderous princes, Sicilians, pirates and rodents of unusual size.
